What a difference a week can make. After the narrow success of last weeks derby, the Tigers looked a very different side in this Saturday morning Cup game.

With a couple of boys unavailable for selection this week there were call ups for Tommy Unwin and Callum Abbott in the starting line up, both boys relished the challenge. The Tigers set off from the first whistle and threatened the large Panthers defenders. The breakthrough came on 4 minutes when Daniel Woolmer scored direct from a sublime corner he took, stunning effort Daniel. From then on the Tigers seemed to lose their way and the Panthers upped their game. The equaliser came soon after and with it the belief the Panthers could take the game from the Cup League leaders.

For the rest of the half the Tigers were defending for much of the game and chances were few and far between. Maldon's confidence grew and took a well deserved lead later in the first half. The Tigers could have been even further behind if wasn't for our keeper Lukas Darby who made some excellent saves to deny Maldon. In midfield this week were George Bass, Daniel Woolmer and William Putt who again worked tirelessly but were forced back into defence for much of the first half to support their battling defenders Tommy Unwin and Jake Miall.

After the break the team re-grouped and Mitchell Dean came into defence and Harry Blenkarn took up position in midfield with George Bass upfront. As the 2nd half unfolded, opportunities started to come for the Tigers and the Panthers keeper was coming under more and more pressure. The equaliser came on 38 minutes when Daniel Woolmer blasted the ball from outside the area for 2 - 2. Belief was returning for the Tigers and with Jake Miall moved up into Midfield, he got on the score sheet on 46 minutes after a great team passing manoeuvre. The win was sealed on 48 minutes when Jake slotted home from a lovely through ball from George Bass.

Well done Tigers, you battled and got the win in the end.

Man of the Match: Lukas Darby - kept the Tigers in the game during the first half, brilliant work.
