TIGERS CLAW BACK FOR A DRAW

Focus Ferrers Tigers U10 2 - 2 Sporting 77 Pumas
Daniel Woolmer (37)
William Putt (43)

It was back to cup action for the Tigers after a weeks enforced break by the weather. Up to Deanery Hill to play old adversaries Sporting 77 Pumas. The game kicked off just as the storm had passed and leaving a sticky pitch behind. The Pumas came hard at the Tigers but they were contained with many strong tackles blocking their way. The Tigers were seeing many shooting chances themselves with many coming close. It was Sporting though who got the break in the first half and the goal was well taken. The Tigers continued to battle but soon found themselves 2 - 0 down. It was important now that their heads didn't drop.

A rallying team talk from the Tigers Management and the boys were soon out of the blocks for the second half. The game continued as it did in the first half, the Tigers were getting closer though. Finally the boys got their well deserved goal on 37 minutes when Daniel Woolmer superbly drilled the ball home. This really got the Tigers spirits up and even more possession. The equaliser came on 43 minutes after some lovely play, Daniel Whitley played through a ball into the box, George Bass connected with it, passed through to William Putt who put the ball home. The closing few minutes were thrilling with the Tigers really pushing on for the win. They came close in the dying seconds when Jake Miall almost rounded the keeper.

Another draw for the Tigers but today they really had fire in their bellies. Keep going boys and those elusive wins will start coming.

Today's team consisted of William Putt starting in goal with Lukas Darby replacing him at half time. Defenders Mitchell Dean, Tommy Unwin and Connor Unwin all put in a sterling performance. Midfielders Daniel Woolmer, Jake Miall, Josh Jones and Harry Blenkarn worked hard getting up and down the pitch. Finally the strikers really looked like scoring today with a determined effort by George Bass and Daniel Whitley.

Man of the Match: George Bass put on a determined display - keep it going George!
The score was 2-2.
