ANOTHER TIGERS RESULT AT BRAINTREE

Focus Ferrers Tigers U10 2 - 1 Braintree Town Blues
Daniel Whitley (21)
George Bass (35)

The Tigers played at what is becoming their second home pitch - Braintree (4th visit this season). It was the penultimate away game in the fixture list before a run of impending home fixtures. The boys started out lively in this late morning fixture, nine Tigers were available for selection and all very keen to make their mark.

It was end to end football for the first few minutes and slowly the Tigers started to take command of the game, the final ball though was letting them down and chances were not taken. Lukas Darby was having a good game in goal and his kicks were strong and solid. Defenders Mitchell Dean and Connor Unwin had to concentrate at all times to prevent Braintree breaking through. Midfielders Jake Miall, William Putt, Josh Jones and George Bass worked hard up and down the field defending and attacking. Daniel Woolmer played up front today and had a lively first half. Daniel Whitley came on midway through the half and continued where he left off at Braintree last week with the opening goal on 21 minutes drilling the ball low and to the left after picking up a long ball through from Mitchell Dean in defence.

Goal number 2 came on 35 minutes when George Bass fired home and the ball went into the back of the net with an assist with a Braintree defender. The boys should have then finished the game off with some golden opportunities but it was Braintree who got the next one. It was a nervy final couple of minutes but the Tigers hung onto their lead to rack up back to back wins, the first time this season. We got the result boys but we still need to 'close' these games.

Man of the Match: Mitchell Dean: A flawless performance throughout the game, very well deserved Mitchell.
The score was 2-1.
