TIGERS UNDONE BY BADDOW

Focus Ferrers Tigers U10 0 - 3 Baddow Spartak

The sun shone down on Elmwood stadium, the pitch and lines were looking immaculate. What a great playing surface for the Tigers encounter with top of the table Spartak. The boys we ready to right the wrongs from the cup games with Baddow.

The boys kicked off and for much of the first half held their own against Baddow, the ball was being passed around with end to end football being played. As the end of the first half approached, Spartak found another gear and were starting to win more of the balls. The inevitable happened on 20 minutes when the Baddow forward stepped past 3 Tigers and put the ball home for 1 - 0. It stayed that way for the remainder of the half.

This week's line up included Lukas Darby in goal who despite the score had a good game at the back. Defenders Mitchell Dean and Josh Jones battled throughout to clear the ball away. In midfield George Bass, William Putt and Daniel Woolmer played their part. They were later supported by Jake Miall and Tommy Unwin who worked hard. Upfront Daniel Whitley and Harry Blenkarn patrolled the front line but were unable to get on the score sheet today.

Baddow continued where they left off in the first half and showed why they're top the table. Two more goals followed and the Tigers became more and more disjointed with spells of both possession and shots being very few and far between. Referee Richard 'Mike Riley' Bass finally called time to proceedings.

Time for an Easter break before regrouping and focusing on our league position in the final run in to the end of the season.

Man of the Match: Daniel Woolmer, worked hard in what was a tricky game for the boys this week. Well deserved Daniel.
