Match report

The hawks had another tough game this week against a very good tiptree minors side,Starting line up of liam bull in goal,henry (adams) and aaron in defence,brennen,jimbo and the returning david in midfield and ross up front.

With the sun shinning the hawks got the game underway,early exchanges saw tiptree on the front foot with some great attacking and passing soon breaching the hawks deffence with a good shot goal 1 0 tiptree,The hawks kicked of again and the goal seemed to spur them into action with some good passing between david ross and bren but were finding it hard to make headway into the tiptree defence,then another good move from tiptree they broke through again but was met by a good save from liam who knocked it out for a corner,the corner was taken short crossed in the box and tapped in 2 0 tiptree,the boys were trying rearly hard none more so than henry who again was everywere and has to be said aaron ross david jimbo and bren all were tackling well but the pressure from tiptree was to much and another good strike 3 0 tiptree,With that goal timed at about ten min we made a few changes with tyler coming on for ross,ronnie on for aaron we kicked off again,with another fine save from liam he got his kick away and bren was off with a fine run got his shot away just wide,bren just after that got an injury and liam came on,with 3 more goals coming in this half the hawks were 6 0 at halftime!!!!!!!

The second half got underway with tiptree kicking off who went straight down the middle and scored another goal 7 0 tiptree,the hawks battled for every ball with tiptree knocking on the door but henry ronnie liam barratt david tyler and bren tackling and defending the goal,they held firm for the next 5 mins but with another well taken corner the ball flew over everyones heads and nestled in the far corner 8 0 tiptree,not long after the restart it was 9 0 tiptree another fine move and strike,making the change which saw ronnie,liam barratt and tyler making way for ross james and aaron again we kicked off,The hawks were soon on the back foot with liam pulling off a string of good saves none more so than a rasping shot from the tiptree striker which he came and got his body behind and caught,and henry (adams) covering the back line with some great defending the hawks just could not hold off the tiptree attacks and let 2 more goals in late on with the final score 11 0.Lets not forget this is there first season of playing matches and with the way they are coming along it will not be long before the results start changing,the game was played in great spirit with both the hawks and the tiptree boys deserving a big WELL DONE for being great sports!!!!!!!

Man of the match this week was given to all the boys who have played two great sides in a row and still kept going but gave the trophy to captain henry who again was superb!!!!!!so it was left to henry to give pete a cake from the boys for his 40 th birthday happy birthday pete !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
