Match report
This was the return game from last week and what a difference a week makes,against two evenly matched teams, the hawks starting line up of liam in goal henry and aaron in defence ronnie,ross and tyler in midfield and bren up front with jimbo as sub this week.
The game got underway with fambridge kicking off,with the game starting as last weeks finished end to end football with both teams going for the win, fambridge came close with a good strike from outside the box and the warning signs were there,Tyler was carrying on from last week and getting the tackles in along with ronnie henry and aaron, Bren had a few goes on the fambridge goal then after 12 minutes his persistance paid off running in on goal and cracking a great effort in the bottom right hand corner,hawks 1 up the lead did not last long and with 15 mins gone the hawks defence went to sleep and fambridge were level halftime.
With david coming along again to cheer on his team mates and handing out the chocs and the team talk over the second half got underway.
Five mins in and the hawks found themself 2 1 down,A mistake from the goal kick (when i confused liam) who missed kicked it straight at a fambridge player who kicked it straight into an open goal,From the kick off the hawks went straight on the attack with bren coming close again only to see his shot deflected for a corner,from the resulting corner the hawks should of had a pen with a handball but was not given,The game was open and a big kick from liam set bren free who was clear on goal and struck a sweet shot only just going wide,Then 16 mins into the second half the hawks found themselfs 3 1 down with a great goal from the fambridge striker who riffled a shot into the roof of the net,With time running out bren had another effort but was not meant to be ,with the game ending 3 1 to fambridge.
Well done to both sets of players for two very competative matches
