FOCUS FERRERS HAWKS 2

TIPTREE JOBSERVE TIGERS 2
With this being the Hawks first league game this year after the boys great efforts in the cup, we welcomed a very friendly Tiptree side to the Elmwood arena.....
The Hawks got straight into there stride and were on the front foot from the off, Charles was probing and making some great runs up front , and nearly put the Hawks one up within the first minute only a very good save from the big Tiptree keeper stopped the Hawks from going in front, Brandan was winning all the loose balls , and pulling all the strings in the middle, David and Bren were making some great runs down the wing's, but the Hawks could not find the key to unlock a Tiptree rear guard, at the othe end Liam was called into action from a break from Tiptree when there striker let fly with a fierce shot some thought the ball had crossed the line but the hole of the ball did not cross the line , The Hawks kept pressing and got there rewards with a great move seeing David pass over to Brandan who played it to Bren who whipped it across to Charles , who then laid it back to Brandan who slotted home 1 0 Hawks ...
Ronnie who was captain was marshalling the defence well along side Jimbo and were not letting Tiptree get near the Hawks goal, with loads of possesion and some very good corners from Bren we just could not get that second goal , Tiptree after being under the cosh for most of the half got a corner , and with only two tiptree players in the box and the Hawks all back a good corner has come into the box and there striker has poked the ball home 1 1.....
This seemed to rattle the boys a bit and Tiptree finished the half strong , Liam on the stroke of half time kept the scores level, when a vicious shot was heading towards the top right corner with Liam back tracking no surley not " we all gasped" but Liam has one handed pushed the ball over the bar, great save again from the hawks keeper , who has come back from injury a different keeper,halftime...
Second Half started with Tiptree still boyant from there goal , but the Hawks were equall to the challenge, some of the passing play from the Hawks rearlly is a pleasure to watch, the chances were mounting with Jack letting fly from outside the box just missing ,and Brandan who it has to be said was pulling all the strings also got in another fine effort, Charles and Bren were next to see the ball go just wide, one of those days come to mind, then with the Hawks still pressing Tiptree broke away with there winger running down the right , he has smashed the ball over and saw it sail pass the finger tips of Liam and into the goal, 2 1 Tiptree.....
Roll your sleeves up time now from a game we should be winning we are now losing ! the Hawks do like to make hard work for themselfs, the last ten minutes saw the Hawks push for an equaliser , Sam had a great effort charged down and Bren had another good try only to see the keeper on top form, the Hawks corner count was racking up as well with some lovely in swingers form bren and jack , but the ball just would not go in , no surley not then with two minutes left Bren has crossed a peach of a ball across to Charles who slotted home YES 2 2 Phew !!!!!!!!!! on the final whistle we had one last chance but it was not meant to be so the game finished up 2 2 Fulltime..............
This was a very good match to watch and Tiptree are very resiliant, The Hawks need to start turning all there possesion and chances into goals and i feel this is only a matter of time, GO HAWKS !!!!!!!! The score was 2-2.
