Hawks win at last !!!!!!!!!!
With the waders and raincoats put away the hawks faced north fambridge ferrets on a sunny sunday morning,Starting line up of birthday boy liam in goal henry and aaron in defence ross,james and tyler making up the midfield and bren up front we were off!!!!!!!!
From the start,the hawks took the game to fambridge and should of been a goal up in the first couple of minutes but a good block from the fambridge defence blocked the goal bound effort,Bren was looking sharp up front and causing a few problems for the fambridge defence,With henry "adams" getting better and better at the back chassing the ball down along with aaron the hawks were playing well,Fambridge grew in confidence and had a spell of corners with the hawks clearing there lines,From a hawks attack fambridge cleared the ball upfield and a good piece of play saw there attacker bearing down on goal with henry alongside him the race was on liam being alert to the danger came to the edge of his box and got down well to make the save,Then just before halftime the hawks made the breakthrough there first half play deserved,Tyler who was playing out his skin makes the tackle and a good piece of play from ross and james put bren through, with his never say die spirit got to the ball and scored his first goal 1 up halftime!!!!
With david coming to cheer on the hawks and handing out the halftime chocs and ronnie coming on for aaron the second half was underway,The hawks created some good chances and got a corner five mins into the second half, Bren took the corner and found ross who struck a good shot straight at the fambridge defence,With the boys determined to hold on to the lead they started dropping deeper,Which allowed fambridge to start getting more of the game and only a bobble on the pitch prevented them drawing level when from six yards out the ball sat up for the fambridge striker who hit it over the bar,With henry "adams" covering every inch of the hawks half (and going on a mazy run down the right) and ronnie making some last ditch tackling along with liam who stood firm in goal with some good saves the hawks held on for there first win fulltime 1 0 what a great game of football with both teams playing there part.
well done boys with the man of the match getting harder to choose tyler got the nod with henry and bren coming very close
