HAWKS WIN IN THE SUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOCUS FERRERS HAWKS 4

Brandan (1)
The Hawks set of for Heybridge in the spring sun ,knowing they had to be on top form to compete with a very good Heybridge side, Heybridge won the kick off and got the game underway....
The Hawks were pressing from the outset and started the game off in great form ,we were first to every ball and passing the ball round rearlly well , Brandan and David had a few early sighters at goal and at the back Henry and Jack were holding a high line which was keeping Heybridge penned in, A crisp move involving nearly all the Hawks should of seen the first goal but Charles shot went agonisanly wide, The boys were playing some great stuff and got there rewards on ten minutes when Bren has pulled out wide turned and hit a fantastic shot over the Heybridge keeper , what a strike 1 0 Hawks..
The boys were brimming with confidence and within a minute should of gone two up barring some last ditch defending from the Heybridge boys,we were attacking and the movement from David Brandan Charles and Bren from the Hawks going forward was outstanding, at the back Heybridge were finding Jack a tough nut to crack, Heybridge then strung a great piece of football together and showed why they are a good footballing side, with a four pass move seeing there striker give Liam no chance in goal 1 1 game on....
This did not deter the Hawks and still kept dominating possesion , Sam was unlucky not to get on a through ball from Jack when it took a bobble just as he was about to shoot, then from a great effort from Charles the Heybridge keeper has made a great save pushing the ball round the post , From a peach of a corner by Bren the ball has bobbled around the box and a goal bound effort has hit a Heybridge defender on the hand (Handball) no pen , they cleared there lines and got a corner of there own and from that corner Heybridge went 2 1 up, with the ball bobbling around the area there striker has popped it home , with Halftime approaching we had a few more efforts but found ourselfs behind at the break...... Halftime 2 1 Heybridge
The hawks just needed to keep there shape and keep passing for the second half , We got the game underway and Brandan had a fine goal bound effort saved right at the restart , the Hawks were on form today and were probing and pressing but just could not find a break through, Sam was fouled running down the wing so the Hawks had a free kick right on the edge of the Heybridge box, Bren has hit a fine free kick but it went just wide, Charles has then come back on and within two minutes has pulled the Hawks level from a corner kick, the Ball was being knocked about then Charles has pocked it home 2 2 ......
The Hawks were having a lot of joy down the right with Davids pace , and with Brandan passing the ball to Charles who layed it off to David , who went on a run beat the defender and has smashed the ball home 3 2 Hawks , Jack now was pushed a bit further forward and could of put the boys further forward with a high lob which looked in all the way but there keeper has pulled off a fine save , Sam then went on another run down the left and has cut inside , and had the vision to pass to Brandan who unmarked at the back post tapped it home "LEFT FOOT" great runs from Brandan and Sam 4 2 Hawks ....
With less than ten minutes left we just needed to hold on, the Hawks were sitting back a bit now and Heybridge got a goal back when there forward has made a fine run down the middle , and has hit a lob over Liam 4 3 , Hawks , Jack was now pushed back and near the end has made two world class tackles to keep the Hawks lead in tack (we have been there once or twice this season) but this time the Hawks held on to a well deserved win WELL DONE BOYS................
Heybridge are a very good football side and with the two teams meeting again next week Elmwood is the place to be, They are a very sporting side and there parents were the first to say how well our boys had played and deserved there win ....
Man Of The Match was again a tough one with all the boys playing so well , but Jack "WASPY" has showed today he has it all in his game , From passing to defending to attacking a truelly awsome display from the WASPY .....WELL DONE "YELLOW BOOTS" The score was 4-3.
