HAWKS DRAW AGAIN TO THE GREEN ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!

On a sunny but blustery Sunday we headed off to Witham to face Valley Green, with 8 boy's available for selection , and the absence of Waspy and Sam we were still confident of getting a result.....

The Hawks got the game underway and did not take long to set a few sighters at the Valley goal, The Hawks training is paying off with some nice crisp passing football, David made a great run down the right and beat his man, he then turned and crossed a great ball into the valley's box with Charles just missing the ball, Brandan was everywhere and was linking up the play and had a fine effort saved by the Valley keeper, the breakthrough came from a Bren cross with Charles "Rooney" Thompson receiving the cross and chipping the keeper to make it 1 0 to the Focus Hawks.

The Hawks kept the pressure on and Charles nearly made it two from a fantastic effort from out side the box, Brandan was in great form and was dominating the midfield , David and Bren were working the wings well , Charles was making himself a nuisance up front , and at the back Henry and Ronnie were protecting Liam's goal , Valley started getting a foot hold in the game with ten minutes of the half left and from a string of corners got the equaliser , when the ball was bobbling around in the box with the Hawks unable to clear, the Valley striker has hammered home 1 1...

This woke the Hawks up again and were soon back in the lead , with a fine corner from Bren floated in and Charles got his second, coming in and hitting the ball home 2 1 halftime

The Hawks started the second half well and David with only two minutes of the second half gone , had a great effort saved from the Valley keeper, we were keeping good possession of the ball and were still probing for the 3rd which would of give the boys a two goal cushion, Brandan played a great cross field ball to David who sprinted past the Valley defender , ran down the line cut inside and crossed the ball into the area Brandan was following up and has got a toe to the ball only for the Valley keeper to again make a fine save, The boys were beginning to tire and with just under ten minutes left valley have got the equaliser, from a long ball over the top their striker has got to the ball and has coolly slotted past the oncoming Liam to level the scores again 2 2......

The Hawks were thinking no not again having previously drawn the last two games two all, and put in a final charge but for all there efforts could not get another goal , so for the third game in a row they have had to settle for a two all draw Full time 2 2

The Hawks should be very proud of their efforts today , and I'm sure we will start holding on to our leads, Valley played their part in this game and showed how competitive this league is WELL DONE BOYS

Man of the Match this week was again very tough with all the boys playing well, but Brandan got the nod for his leading of the team , and all round play WELL DONE BRANDAN The score was 2-2.
