VALENTINES DAY HEARTBREAK FOR THE OUTSTANDING HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

With this being the first leg of our semi final against second place Broomfield we headed off to Chelmsford, today's Hawks were Liam, Henry, Ronnie, Jack, Sam, Brandan, Bren, Charles and Captain David..................

On a sticky pitch the Hawks got the game underway, with less than a minute on the clock the boy's were a goal up, when Charles laid the ball over to David who smashed home great start 1 0 Hawks, At last we have taken the lead in a game, This settled the boy's down and had another great chance 2 minutes later to go another goal to the good , nice neat football seeing the in form Charles just miss the upright, The Hawks were playing some lovely football, but at the other end had to be very cautious of there number 8 who is a very skillful player . Liam was called into action on ten minute's when a good move found there striker, who has turned and hit low, with Liam at full stretch he has pulled off a cracking save to keep the Hawks in front.
The football at times played by both sides was a pleasure to watch, the Hawks were pushing and probing for a deserved two goal advantage, but just could not get that vital touch when needed to steer it home, None more so when a goal mouth scramble saw bodies everywhere with the ball bobbling around, a goal bound effort was boomed clear from a Broomfield defender , Halftime 1 0 Hawks

The boys were about two foot taller when they came off, so the Hawks parent's got some sticks and got the mud of the boot's to bring them back down, Broomfield got the second half underway and Liam was called into action early door's coming off his line and gathering at the foot of the Broomfield striker, brave stuff, Broomfield had probably there best spell of the match and scored from a cracking shot past the helpless Liam, 1 1 .
With 20 minute's still to play this was turning into a cracking encounter, Charles up front was playing a blinder and nearly put the Hawks back in front, with Jack , Brandan , Sam and David all in the build up, Charles has seen his shot go inches wide, Then from the goal kick Jack won the ball gave it to Brandan and from an impossible angle he has smashed it home to put the Hawks 2 1 up ....
The next five minutes the Hawks were under pressure and Ronnie along with Henry were called upon to pull off some very timely tackles to protect our lead, Liam made another good save pushing a goal bound shot onto the bar and then gathered it, Bren then went on a run down the left and a wicked cross saw David get on the end of it but it bobbled just wide, With 53 mins gone The Hawks have taken a goal kick which has fallen to a Broomfield player, who launched it back in and the only player left in the box was a Broomfield player who has turned and pushed the ball into the net with the last kick of the game, final score 2 2 ..

The Hawks should be very proud of themselves today, "WE ALL ARE OF YOU", some of the football today was a pleasure, football is a very cruel game at times and the Hawks just don't seem to get the luck , Broomfield played there part and at full time there manager Duncan came up and said they were fortunate which about sums up this match (and extra time)  still only half time WELL DONE BOYS

Man of the Match this week could have gone to all the boys, but this time the parents voted.  Liam again was in the frame, so was David, Jack and Brandan but for the second week running for his awsome forward play Charles got the nod WELL DONE CHAZ!!!!!!!!!!  The score was 2-2.
