Back to back games at Elmwood for the boy's this week we entertained Tiptree in our third cup game, After losing one and cruely drawing one we knew we had to win to stand a chance of progresing to the next round.
Focus got the game started and could of gone 1 up in second's, when Chaz passed to David from the kick off who laid it back to WASPY who let fly with the keeper scrambling the ball past the post, so close more pressure from the corner but none of the boy's could get the final touch, Tiptree grew in confidence and passed the ball round well, and tested Jimbo on a couple of occasion's, the game was played at a great pace and Branden who was everywere got the Hawks first, when the ball came across Branden has fainted to his left opened his shoulders and hit a screamer top right great strike 1 0 Hawks, The boy's were playing some nice football and could of increased the lead but were just missing that final touch, With the Hawks pushing forward Tiptree were finding some hole's in the Hawks defence and with a two v one there striker hit a good shot past a diving Jimbo 1 1, This was shapping up to be a cracking match with both teams having good chance's, Brennen, David and Branden all going close, Tiptree were next to score from a ball down the left to there winger who crossed over for there striker to pop it in 2 1 Tiptree, With only a minute to make amends the Hawks kicked off with the ball falling to Branden who passed it to sam who beat his man crossed the ball to Bren who smashed it home 2 2 Halftime........
Second half got underway with some early possesion for the Hawks who were starting to pass the ball round now, and with five minute's gone were back in front this time Chaz getting on the end of a nice through ball from Sam with the keeper to beat he slotted home "Told ya Chaz" 3 2 Hawks, Tiptree were creating some nice chances of there own and with Henry and Ronnie getting some vital challenges in along with Jack Branden and david we were holding firm, At the other end Chaz, Sam, Bren and David all went close, the Hawks are a joy to watch and it was Brenen who scored next when he picked up the ball just outside the box and like Branden in the first half hit a great shot in the top corner, great goal 4 2 , The Hawks completed the scoring with Chaz getting his second off the game from a corner falling to Chaz who passed the ball into the net 5 2 hawks fulltime ............................
This was a cracking game to watch with both teams playing there part, very even first half with the Hawks taking control in the second, it has to be said great effort by both sets of player's WELL DONE BOY'S
Man of the Match this week was again a close run thing with Branden coming very close, but Sam got the nod for his great wing play and all round effort WELL DONE SAM........... The score was 5-2.
