GREAT NOTLEY STRIKER'S 4

With the Hawks playing there 3rd home game in a row, we welcomed Great Notley to the Elmwood Arena, With only 8 player's (which is rare for the Hawks) Great Notley won the toss and kicked off...

The Hawks were soon on the front foot, a great piece of football seeing Brandan pass it to Jack,who lays it out for the galloping Sam to glide past a notley player,cross the ball over with Chaz and David busting a gut to get on the end of it, the ball just clipped a notley defender to go out for a corner, Notley play some great passing football of there own, and were very dangerous going forward themselfs, the Hawks were creating some great chances and had the lions share, with one great move notley went 1 up with there player Alfie scoring near post 1 0 Great Notley ,

This did not deter the Hawks who just keep playing there football which at times is a joy to watch, as in previous weeks the hawks kept knocking on the door but just cant seem to find there scoring touch, Chaz , David , Brandan , Jack and sam all came close, then from another great piece of play from there players Alfie and Pricey they went 2 up  with a good finish bottom corner 2 0 Great Notley, Henry who was playing in goal to give Jimbo a run out, made a fantastic save coming off his line and diving down to his left preventing Notley going in 3 up which would of been very Harsh halftime.........

The Hawks started the second half in great style, and after a couple of minutes of the restart got there goal their play deserved, from a Sam cross Brandan got on the end of it and smashed it home 2 1 .. the boys were rearly flying now and could of got the equaliser but David just saw his shot go wide, Then suicide again Great notley played the ball out wide there winger crossed it in and with the Hawks players pushed forward there forward slotted home 3 1 , this was turning out to be a fascinating match with both sets of  player's playing some lovely one touch football, The hawks were very gung ho and Notley were very quick coming out, the hawks then reduced the score again this time a foul on Brandan just inside the Notley half, saw "WASPY" step up and smash the free kick in from 25 yards out great goal 3 2, the Hawks straight from the kick off nearly got level with four player's having shots blocked on the edge of the Notley penalty area, then with Brandan bursting through into the box he was brought down for what looked like a pen, but our ref through a crowd of player's missed it this seemed to be the turning point, with Notley clearing there winger goes down the wing crosses a great ball in ,and with a Hawks player coming back as cover, the ball has spun off his shin and into the net , 4 2 .. fulltime..............

The Hawks are playing some great football now but just can not seem to put the ball in the net , they just need a bit of luck to get them back on track, take nothing away from Notley who are a very good footballing side and took there chances well and are a friendly team WELL DONE.....

Man of the Match this week went to Brandan who never lets up and is a very good addition to the Hawks this year WELL DONE BRANDAN................ The score was 2-4.
