HAWKS GO DOWN WITH A WIMPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOCUS FERRERS HAWKS 0
MEADOW YOUTH 8
With this being our first league cup game of the campaign, we welcomed a very strong meadow youth side to elmwood, With Charles on the casualty list we still entered the game full of optimism .
The Hawks Kicked off but straight away Meadow were first to the ball and within the opening couple of minutes Liam was picking the ball out of the net, from some sloppy defending Meadows number 9 put them 1 up, what followed was a mini collapse ( The England cricket team would of been proud of) the Hawks found themselfs 4 down within a blink of the eye, with at least 12 minutes of the first half remaning we were fearing the worst, The boys then switched on and could of had a few goals of there own, none more so than with David on full tilt beating 4 players laying a peach of a ball through to Bren whos shot tickled the upright halftime the Hawks 4 down.............
Second Half and the Hawks started brighter and were now moving the Ball around, Afew more sighters at goal followed from Sam and Jack but just could not find the net, at the other end Liam was making some good saves and keeping us in it, this was end to end football now, Ten minutes into the second half the Hawks had a free kick just outside the box with Bren lining it up we held our breath can we come back !!! A very good free kick from Bren saw it just miss, Then the self distruck button again with the Hawks not clearing there lines Meadow steamed a further 4 goals past the helpless Liam in goal ,Full time 8 0 to meadow.......
Meadow are a very good side and probably the strongest team we have faced, the Hawks will need to learn that playing back up in the crouch they need to be switched on unlike today were to many boys were below par, the hawks had a good middle part to the game but started and ended very poorly, lets put this one behind us boys,
Man of the Match this week could of been one of three boys, Sam for his great wing play, Liam who was expossed but kept the score half decent but just pipping them was David who was again awsome and was unlucky to be on the losing side WELL DONE BOYS.....................
