HAWKS GO DOWN FIGHTING..................
FOCUS FERRERS HAWKS 2

BROOMFIELD YOUTH LIONS 6
The Hawks started off there new league campaign away to a strong Broomfield side, with us moving back to the crouch league we were a bit nervous for the boys......
Broomfield got the game underway and were soon on the attack and had a few early sighters at goal, it took the Hawks a few minutes to get to grips with the game but with one great piece of play we should of gone a goal up, Sam starting the move with a great run down the left crossing in a peach of a ball with David just missing the upright, the two teams were very evenly matched and chances came and went, Broomfield struck first from a corner with a great in swinger which missed everyone hit the far post came back struck Liam on the back and in slow motion went in (almunia Like) 1 0 Broomfield
The Hawks did not let this get to them and kicked off determined to get a goal straight back, the Hawks were soon level from a free kick which Jack took and smashed it in over the keeper who got a good hand on it but it just went over, 1 1 ... both teams were attacking with purpose and it trully was an end to end game, Broomfield took the lead again with another mix up at the back which there forward latched onto 2 1 Broomfield ..... The Hawks had a number of chances to get the equliser none better than from a Henry clearence found David who passed to Charles with just the keeper to beat (i made the call to ladbrookes) but his shot went a whisker the wrong side.. Halftime ....
The second half started well for the Hawks but a mad 10 min spell saw us concede 3 quick goals, the first one was a piece of individual brilliance from there number 8 who smashed in an unstoppable shot past Liam, the other two goals we just lost our shape trying to get back into the game by pushing boys forward, "lesson learned" Ronnie and Henry were emense and Jimbo was everywere (even tackling me when he was off the pitch) Bren David Charlie Jack and Sam were fantastic going forward, with the boys determined to get the goals back they got caught again nice finish 6 1 Broomfield,....Liam was called into action again this time getting down well to his right and making a fantastic save...
The Hawks showed a great fighting spirit and pulled another one back when David went on a run beat everyone (the ref as well ) went round the keeper and slotted home "great goal", the Hawks stepped up a gear and had 5 or 6 great chances in the last five mins with Charlie Bren and jack just missing, but it was not meant to be........
The Hawks were very unlucky to be losing at halftime but for a mad ten min spell at the start of the second half we would of got something out of this one WELL DONE BOYS.........
Broomfield are a good side and a very friendly side and were a pleasure to play ....
Man Of The Match could of gone to anyone but Bren got the nod WELL DONE BREN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
