HAWKS KEEP THERE NEIGHBOURS AT BAY JUST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Focus Ferrers Hawks 5
Tom (2)
Harrison (1)
Bren (1)
Charles (1)
Fennlands Hurricans 4
With both teams making changes and playing a few new boys and boys in different position's this was as it was meant to be a friendly, which it has to be said was played in great spirit by both teams, with David, Jack, Kian, Sam and Liam Barratt not playing today we had a one off new look line up with Liam in goal Jimbo and Ronnie at the back Charles henry and Bren in midfield and new boy Tom making his debut up front Jason and Harrison starting as subs Fennlands got the game underway..................
Hawks started off brightly and after four minutes took the lead with a good through ball by charles playing in new boy Tom who took his goal rearly well (debut goal well done tom) 1 0 Hawks, the hawks were playing some good football and could of gone two up from a bren corner which no one got on the end, Fennlands form the resulting goal kick carved through the hawks defence and a good strike from there striker beat a diving liam 1 1, with Fennlands now in full flow and the Hawks dropping off they then went in front from a high ball, which Liam would normally take un challenged but Josh had other ideas and through great determination got his head on it to put fennlands 2 1 up, now it was the Hawks turn to come from behind and a great passage of play which saw Charlie play the ball to Jimbo who passed to Tom who played a peach of a ball to Bren, and with Bren bearing down on goal he smashed in the equaliser bottom left hand corner 2 2 , that was ten mins up so we stopped the game for the boys to take on some fluids, we now brought Jason on to play with Ron at the back and fennlands got the game going again, like previous encounters end to end football with both teams having chances and from a throw fennlands took the lead again ( i may have this wrong) but i think sam scored from outside the box anyway hawks were asleep and it was a good strike 3 2 Fennlands, more chances came and went halftime 3 2 fennlands.....................
The hawks kicked off the second half and after a halftime chat started to spread out a bit more, this soon payed divedends when charles got on the end of a Bren cross to level for the hawks making it 3 3, both teams had more chances at one end Josh Sam and Kieran all came close and at the other end Tom Charles james and and Bren also going close, It was Tom who put the hawks into the lead again going through from some neat football and finishing well 4 3 hawks, This seemed to spur on fennlands again and three minutes later they were level again another fine finish 4 4, Harrison was playing rearlly well in the middle and with six minutes remaining he has hit a scorcher from just inside fennlands half to put the hawks in the lead again (well done H) 5 4 Hawks, what happened next was a bit of a siege with some great football being played by fennlands with the hawks goal leading a charmed life, none more so when fennlands striker hit the post, the resulting ball came out and another strike which Liam saved pushing it out, only to fall to another fennlands player who hit a superb shot on target again this time hitting Liam smack in the face and over the crossbar ( brave goalkeeping ) with the magic water doing it's trick and liam back on his feet fennlands took the corner, confusion in the box and another strike this time from one of the twins (sorry cant tell apart lol) and Liam gathered again, phew (again) with fennlands having some more good chances to equalise either going just wide or Liam making the save, the hawks held on for the win.................
These are two evenlly matched teams and no matter who plays they seem to be good games, the hawks showed great resiliance today and fennlands were unlucky not to have at least a draw today, but it has to be said these two teams never have a dull game with each other and roll on the next one WELL DONE BOTH TEAMS....................
Did not have man of the match today it would have been hard but will say a big WELL DONE to both Tom and Harrison for opening up there Hawks accounts .............................. The score was 5-4.
