Hawks do us proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Upon arrival we knew it was going to be tough as we had Ravens First team, Springfields first team and Meadow youth ...............
First game was against Ravens Youth, we knew what a good side they were as they are 4 div higher, Ravens got the game under way and were soon on the attack with an early sighter on goal, the boys were standing firm defending well then a goal from a corner saw ravens go 1 up half time, second half underway the hawks stood firm going forward Bren Kian Jack Jimbo and Sam just could not break a good ravens defence, Liam in goal made a couple of saves and ron and henry played rearlly well in protecting our goal ravens did get a 2nd before full time to win 2 0 ravens....
The hawks 2nd match was against a very fast Springfield team, this was a half to forget as the hawks seemed to switch off and let in 3 sloppy goals as Springfield ran riot Halftime 3 0 Springfield, 2nd half saw Sam go onto the right Bren on the left Kian up front with Ron Jimbo and Henry all doing there job in Defence, the hawks looked much better this half and had better shape, we did concede another goal from a good strike but much more like the Hawks, lost 4 0..............
Last game in this group saw us up against Meadow youth who had won there two previous games against Ravens and Springfield "HELP" no only joking, Henry had a go in goal and was soon called into action saving at the feet of the meadow striker, this game the Hawks were seeing more of the ball and a bit of pressure won a corner, nice in swinger from Bren with Kian just missing it, a better and more even game for the boys then on the stroke of halftime Meadow took the lead with a looping shot 1 0 Meadow, Hawks came out and again were giving as good as they got this game but went down 1 0 ..........
This tournament we had a quater final, semi Final and a final, with the winner of group 1 playing the losers of group 2 runners up of group 1 playing 3rd in group 2 ect... so for our quater final we had to play the winner of group 2 that being Meadow youth b.......
Meadow got the game underway with both teams going full tilt for the win, Liam was back between the sticks and made a good stop coming off his line to smother the ball, Jack had a go from distance just missing the upright, this was a very even game but nether team could get the break through halftime 0 0, Hawks started the 2nd half with Bren smacking one from the kick off good effort going just wide, Meadow had a few good chances just missing the goal,the tackles were flying in but neither team gave an inch, with both teams cancelling each other out fulltime whistle blew 0 0 .................
IT was now down to a goalden goal with 3 minutes to be played each half then pens , meadow youth took the kick off and there striker ran with the ball down the wing beat 3 players then hit a great shot which Liam managed to push onto the crossbar but the ball bounced over and in to give Meadow youth the win, What a cracking game with both teams playing there part but there has to be a winner and loser this time we were on the wrong end, with some of the boys upset we soon had them smilling by telling them how proud we were (and a icecream followed by the bouncy castle) they were back to there good selfs again and are ready for our next tournament which is our one ......
