HAWKS UNLUCKY IN THE RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Focus Ferrers Hawks u8's 2
Jack French (1)

Ravens Youth u8's 4
This was the last game in the spring league for the hawks and with the absence of top scorer David and the wing wizard sam we were playing a very good Ravens side, Starting this week Liam Bull in goal, Ronnie and Henry at the back with Jimbo, Jack and Bren in the middle with captain Kian up front in the pouring rain Ravens got the game underway..............
Ravens started of the brightest with the Hawks standing off them knowing that they had won all there spring league games, a good piece of play saw Ravens have the first strike on goal just missing the upright, the warning signs were there and with four minutes of the half gone Ravens took the lead with a good strike hitting the bottom right corner 1 0 Ravens, This seemed to switch the Hawks on and from the kick off we showed how as a team we had improved, the hawks now passing the ball round as we know they can, and were carving out some good chances with Kian, Bren, Jimbo and Jack all having good strikes on goal, Ravens also had some chances on the break but found the Hawks defence of Ronnie and Henry in top form, with Charlie coming on for the impresive Liam Barratt who has in the two games played rearly well on the right wing in the absence of David, Bren also was playing out of position being asked to play on the left instead of his normal striking position but was swinging the ball in like a pro, on 14 minutes the hawks got the goal there play deserved with Jack bursting through the middle and from about 25 yards out unleashed his "waspy" shot which flew over the goal keepers head "take a bow son" "you dont save those" as mr Gray would say hawks level 1 1, the game was end to end now and Charlie came close to taking the lead for the hawks but just saw his shot go past the upright, Ravens had another good chance just before half time but a combination of the impresive Henry and Ronnie getting stuck in the ball went straight at Liam halftime 1 1 ...................
With the sun finally breaking through the hawks came out after a rousing half time team talk and kicked off the second half, with the second half starting as the first had ended the hawks were in control but playing against a very good Ravens side had to be wary of the break away, chances coming and going for the hawks they just could not find the net, it was Ravens who took the lead again with a cracking through ball finding there striker who finished it off superbly 2 1 Ravens, the hawks were soon level again with Bren causing all sorts of problems down the left putting in a peach of a cross finding Charlie at the back post who slotted home 2 2, the hawks were playing some lovely football, passing the ball around and a good ball through the middle found Liam Barratt who was lining up the shot and so was Kian and a mix up saw the ball bobble towards Ravens goal, Kian for his effort hurt his knee with a big cut across it "nasty" , what happened next was harsh from a great goal kick which sailed over the hawks defence three Ravens players got round the back and a shot which nine times out of ten Liam would save found the back of the net 3 2 Ravens, the Hawks kept pushing higher and higher up the pitch trying to get the equaliser they deserved but got hit on the break again, another good ball over the top found there striker who this time smashed an unstoppable goal 4 2 Ravens, the boys never gave up and to there credit kept pushing forward and created some rearlly good chances, but it was one of those days, Ravens also had a few more near the end but Liam pulled off two cracking saves (that would of been very harsh on the boys) Thats Kids Football fulltime 4 2 Ravens...
The hawks played fantastic today and on another day would of won, the spring league has been a great contest against some evenly matched teams and the hawks ended with 3 wins 2 draws 2 loses,Ravens are a very good side and with there manager Malcolm are a great team to play credit to them WELL DONE ALL THE BOYS......
Man of the Match today went to Henry for an outstanding defensive display and has come back into the form we know he can produce, The other trophy went to Liam Barratt who has been fantastic on the right wing WELL DONE.............. The score was 2-4.
