The Hawks faced there woodham neighbours in there first competative derby at elmwood stadium, squad this week Liam Bull,Ronnie,Henry,Liam Barratt,Jimbo,David,Kian,Sam,Jack and Brennen completing the Hawks line up..................

Fennlands kicked off and were soon on the attack spraying the ball out wide with the fennlands winger crossing over to there striker who had a strike which Liam got down well to, Fennlands started the game rearly well and the Hawks defence of Henry, Ronnie and Jimbo had to be on top form, from another Fennlands attack Henry made a cracking tackle on there front man George with Jimbo clearing up, Liam in goal had to be alert and pulled off a few more saves and from a Liam clearence he found David who passed to Jack ( who had come off his sick bed to play) who found Kian layed it through to Bren who smacked it in bottom right 1 0 Hawks , Fennlands who had played the better football were soon level from a good cross finding George who smacked it past Liam 1 1 , With Sam and Ronnie coming on and Kian and Jimbo making way the Hawks kicked off again, Then five minutes before the end of the first half Fennlands took a desrved lead another fine strike from George 2 1 Fennlands,Fennlands could of gone 3 1 up soon after when Josh found himself one on one with Liam but Liam pulled off a great save to keep the Hawks in it. The Hawks finished the half strongly with Sam Bren and David all having a go at goal but went in at halftime 2 1 down................

With the Hawks boys rearly determined to make up for a first half which they had not got out of first gear, and Jack "Waspy" French feeling a bit sick coming off, and the versitile Jimbo coming into the middle of the park ( he know has played in every position) the Hawks got the second half underway,
The Hawks started this half in full flow and David soon had us level with a mazy run and good finish to make it level 2 2, the Hawks were now playing some passing football with David Bren and Sam linking up well and Jimbo playing in the middle was awsome, the Hawks defence with Henry and Ronnie clearing there lines and when the defence was breached Liam was in good form between the sticks, eight minutes gone and the Hawks were in front again when Jimbo won a tackle passed to David who crossed for Bren to turn and hit a great shot 3 2 Hawks, The two teams were very evenly matched and it was Fennlands who struck next on ten minutes, when a bit of a mix up from a good corner saw George pounce to bring Fennlands level 3 3, Liam Barratt now coming on for Henry who is coming back into form and was knackered we kicked off again, the Hawks were far better in the second half and from a David corner were in front again when Bren got on the end of it to steer it goal bound taking a slight deflection of a defender but was a Bren hatrick 4 3 Hawks, The lead lasted about a minute and this time it was Josh of Fennlands who picked the ball up in his own half and showed great determination getting down the line cutting into the box and hitting a great shot into the roof of the net 4 4, with more chances at either end and both defences making the tackles the game ended with the honours even from two well matched teams full time 4 4..........

Fennlands played some good football and deserved to be 2 1 up at halftime, but the Hawks came back in the second half and deserved the share of the spoils, the two teams deserve great praise in putting on a very entertaining match for the watching parents WELL DONE BOY's...........

The Man of the Match this week was tough with all the boys getting votes but went to Bren who hit another Hatrick and was a thorn in the Fennlands defence all game, Liam Bull got the nod for the other trophy with a fine goalkeeping display ..............................

The score was 4-4.
