On a lovely sunny sunday morning the Hawks played host to Maldon Saints Tigers, The squad this week Liam Bull, Henry Allan, Ronnie Sparks, James Hall, Liam Barratt, David Jones, Sam Mears, Jack French, KIan Wootton and Brennen Dellar making up the Hawks ..............
With Maldon Saints Being a new team formed from to many players in there other team, we did not know what to expect as they have only played one game as the tigers since there break away, Saints won the toss and kicked off..........
Maldon only had six players and were soon on the back foot and could of been 4 or 5 down in the opening few minutes, With Bren, David, Jack and Kian all having strikes at goal and a combination of some excellent saves from there keeper or the ball just missing the target, with five minutes gone the Hawks finally opened the scoring with David netting after a superb run down the right beating three players and hitting a superb shot into the back of the net 1 0 Hawks, this seemed to settle the hawks and a minute later were two goals to the good this time it was Brennen hitting a great shot 2 0 Hawks, the Hawks were playing some superb passing football and with Ronnie and Jimbo staying high up and clearing any threat the Hawks were knocking on the door, nine minutes gone and this time it was Kian netting with a niceley placed shot bottom right 3 0 Hawks,Sam and Henry now coming on for Jimbo and Kian maldon kicked off again, Jack now playing in the middle was the next to score from a fine cross from Sam (who now plays with great confidence) seeing Jack smash the ball bottom left of the goal 4 0 Hawks, The maldon keeper was having a blinder and pulled off a few more great saves but the Hawks were relentles, David went on another of his runs and got his second of the game smashing the ball into the roof of the goal, with that being David's last piece of first half action and taking a breather Liam Barratt had a run on the right, The hawks were playing some great football and Liam nearlly got on the score sheet from a Sam cross but just could not dig the ball out from under his feet, the Hawks went into halftime 5 up .........................
Second half change's seeing Jimbo have another go between the sticks and David and Bren coming back on the Hawks got the second half underway, Jack was everywere and was controlling the midfield (he just dont stop running) and Sam crossing in from the left and David from the right the Hawks created some rearly good chances with Sam, David, Kian and Jack all going close and with five minutes gone Bren scored his second with a fine turn and sweet strike 6 0 Hawks, Jack struck next with a nice pin point pass from David which saw Jack nearly rip the net off from a thunderous strike 7 0 Hawks, more changes were made and liam Bull coming on for a run out on the pitch alongside Henry at the back and Ronnie having a go in midfield, the boys were all playing some great football and from a corner Ronnie nearly got his first goal for the Hawks only being denied by another great save, David completed the scoring playing a one two with Bren and smashing in his hatrick goal 8 0 Hawks, full time .Maldon Saint's played there part with all six of there player's giving there all and do move the ball round rearlly well WELL DONE....
The boys as a team are growing with every game and are now starting to put away some of there chances, the defence are looking great as a unit with Ronnie, Liam, Liam B,Henry and Jimbo clearing everything and the Signings of Sam, Jack and Kian Linking up with Bren and Captain David.
Man of the match this week could of been a number of players but Ronnie got the nod from the parent's with his outstanding display today, Sam won the other and since his switch is showing what a great assett he is to this Hawks team WELL DONE all the boy's...................
