HAWKS LOSE FIRST SPRING ECOUNTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the evening tournament at maldon and past some of our hawks bed times,we had an early kick off against a good boreham side,on a sunny mothers day boreham got the game underway !!!!!!!!!!

Early signs were the hawks looked sharp and were soon on the front foot,and within a minute we had our first strike on goal with David going close,boreham were defending rearly well and with there number nine (who was like a greyhound) always had an outlet,with a number of chances at the boreham goal none better than when Bren hit the post, the hawks were caught on the break with a nice through ball to there number 9 who smashed it past Liam hawks 1 down, Hawks took the kick off and went straight on the attack and this time it was David who was denied by the post (think the goals need to be bigger) boreham had chances as well and had a string of corners but the hawks stood firm,the hawks were knocking at the door ,then got caught again with another break from boreham and Liam was picking the ball out the net again hawks 2 0 down,this was a pulsating encounter and the hawks pulled one back when Bren got tripped outside the box ,and from the resulting free kick Bren hit the ball top right hand corner great free kick 2 1 , with the hawks pressing in the dying seconds of the first half for the equaliser, they were caught again this time Liam made a great save but saw the ball trickle over the line 3 1 boreham halftime !!!!!!!!!!!

The hawks had a rallying half time team talk and came out ready to put there possesion into goals,with David, Kian ,Jack,Bren and Sam linking up and playing some nice football none more so as when Jimbo played it to Jack who fed the ball to Bren who slid it to David who went on one of his runs only to see his shot hit the side netting,Sam then gathered the ball from the boreham goal kick and plays it to Bren who feeds David again who smacked a great strike this time hitting the cross bar (one of those days springs to mind) boreham then went 4 1 up with another good strike, the hawks were begining to look a bit tired but kept going and got another goal back with Sam Bren and Jack all playing there part in the movement and David smashing in a fantastic goal 4 2, hawks kept going but a mix up at the back gifted boreham there 5 th an easy tap in for there striker,FULLTIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was another great match to watch with both teams playing there part,the hawks were very unlucky to lose this one and on another day (bigger goals) would have won, but credit to boreham who were very clinicle and a very friendly team well done boys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man of the match this week was a tough one with Bren "torres" Dellar getting the nod for a fantastic front line performance, just keeps getting better and better WELL DONE BREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The score was 2-5.
