HAWKS LOSE IN THE MUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was our first meeting in a derby of any sorts so the boys playing against people they knew was a first,we started off with Liam in goal,Captain Ronnie and Liam b in defence,David, Jack and Bren in midfield with Sam playing up front fennlands kicked off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the previous few games being away and playing 8 a side we were playing 7 a side for the first time in a few games and it showed with fennlands starting the better and carving through the middle of our defence, hawks were finding it hard going in the early stages and were soon a goal down, when the ball was played through the middle and smashed in 1 0 fennlands, this rearly was an unusall start by the hawks and on 9 mins were 2 down when a cross field ball went straight in after liam failed to see it and made a howler 2 0 fennlands,with changes then made bringing Jimbo and Kian on for Liam and Sam we kicked off again,the hawks were now playing some good football with David having a few sights at goal and was causing havoc now and Jack who hit a tremendous shot only to be denied by the post!!! The hawks always had to be aware of fennlands who with josh and George turned defence into attack very quickly, the hawks who started very poorly but after going 2 down grew into the game went in at halftime 2 0 down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with the halftime team talk done the hawks kicked off the second half and with sam coming back on it was not to long till we had another shot on goal but missing just wide again,then on the break with some great football Josh brought the ball forward played a one two then layed it off to there striker who hit the ball right side and liam missed it 3 0 fennlands,the hawks kept going and had two back to back great chances to get on the score sheet but as has been our problem we just cant seem to finish our chances,with 8 mins gone in the second half fennlands won a free kick just outside the penalty box, with the wall set the fennlands striker hit it over the wall Liam unable to stop it another goal 4 0 fennlands,the hawks were playing the ball around and soon found the elusive goal after so many chances ,great run and finish by David 4 1 fennlands,with the hawks now pressing for another were undone with a cross from the left into the box handled but shot past liam 5 1 fennlands,with the hawks missing a few more chances Jack got his second goal for the hawks with david winning the ball playing it to bren who passed to sam who passed to jack and with only the goal keeper to beat smashed it in 5 2 ,the game was open and the hawks had 4 one on ones with the fennlands keeper in the space of 3 mins but failing to convert fulltime 5 2 fennlands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game was played in great spirit and on another day could of been different but the hawks just dont seem to have that scoring touch at the moment!!!!!!but credit to fennlands who were solid and play some nice football and took there chances well done!!!!!!!!!! The score was 2-5.
