Away day cracker !!!!!!!!!!!

With the hawks first game in 2009 an away game against coggeshall we were all looking forward to playing again,Starting line up of Liam Bull in goal Henry and Liam B in defence David Ronnie and captain Tyler in midfield with Bren up front in windy yet sunny conditions the game got underway with the hawks kicking off !!!!

A nervous first few minutes with coggeshall starting the brighter Liam was called into action with a save from the coggeshall striker, With the hawks playing up hill and against the wind we were finding it hard to get the ball away but with Henry Liam Tyler and Ronnie getting stuck in coggershall just could not break through,Then with eight mins gone David made a great tackle on the right just inside our half got the ball and ran past three players and struck a sweet shot bottom right corner 1 0 hawks, The goal seemed to liven the hawks up and with Bren going on a run down the middle playing a one two with David he just missed out on getting his name on the score sheeet,From the clearence Bren has run from the other half all the way back to get the ball again great determination well done,With ten mins gone David struck again after Bren had hit the post then from the rebound Bren had that shot cleared off the line out to David who banged it in 2 0 hawks,bringing on Jimbo and Kian for Tyler and Ronnie who had played superb we were off again.The hawks had the two goal cushion and were starting to pop the ball around with another effort from Bren just going wide,14 mins gone Ross came on for Bren who had run his socks off and needed a break,16 mins gone coggershall pulled a goal back great work from there player who cut through the hawks defence and riffled in a great shot 2 1 hawks,Halftime !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the boys halftime chocs and drinks out the way they were ready for the second half,Changes with Ross and Kian making way for Bren and Tyler coggershall got the second half underway,The hawks kicking down hill and the wind behind them Henry cleared to Tyler who found Jimbo who layed it off to Bren we were attacking again a great cross just missing David goal kick , with the game flowing end to end coggershall got the equliser six mins into the second half another fine finish 2 2 this just seemed to spur the hawks on with David going close again, Twelve mins into the second half hawks got a 3 rd with a goal mouth scramble Jimbo fired it in (the celebration was a corker a knee slide cracking) 3 2 hawks.16 mins gone and a cracking through ball saw the coggershall striker one on one with Liam a cracking shot was saved by an equally great save one handed dive to his side, A big kick up the middle saw David get the ball run shoot and just went wide,the goal kick was taken and Bren latched onto it only to be denied by the post FULL TIME 3 2 hawks!!!!!!!!!

The game was played in great spirit with the hawks just edging a corker,Well done to both sets of players and thank you to the coggershall manager Jan and all there parents a very friendly team

Man of the match this week was very hard with Ronnie playing his best game for the hawks but was just pipped by David with two goals and ran for forty minutes WELL DONE David !!!!!!!!!!! The score was 3-2.
