HAWKS FULL FOUL TO SOME DUBIOUS DISCISIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!

On a misty morning we set off to Notley to play league chasers Great Notley United , Having met on two previous occasions with honours even we knew this was going to be a battle, We were eager to improve on our league position and having played all the top teams we had nothing to fear as we are as good as anything in the league ...........

Focus won the kick off and poured forward with a sweeping move in the first minute seeing Bren knock the ball over to Charles who beat his man and crossed seeing the Notley defender save a certain ball for Taylor to smash home "handball Penalty Surely" no chance and as we were to discover not for the only time today we would come up against some very dubious decisions.........

Both teams had chances and it was turning out to be a very entertaing game with Taylor and Chaz going close then with 20 minutes gone Charles spun superbly in the box and let fly a great strike but the Notley keeper pulled off a superb save to keep the scores level , Tom and Bren were bombing down either wings with Sam and then Jack getting to the middle balls we looked comfortable also at the Back with the Sparks rallying his back troops of Henry and Ashley , with 6 minutes of the half remaining Notley played a inch perfect ball through to there forward who beat the Hawks defence for pace and with the hawks number one coming out he touched it to one side and finished well to put Notley in front 1 0 Great notley , we battled on and should of levelled when Jack burst through and found Taylor who spun but missed the upright unlucky for us , we found ourselfs behind 1 0 Halftime....

The second half began and the Hawks were rearly turning the screw with some lovely interchange football , these Hawks do play some neat stuff and at times Notley were chasing shadows, this being said they are a very good defensive side and you can see why they are at the top as they coped well with the Hawks onslaught, we kept knocking on the door and notley kept there line well , we had a string of corners but could not get the ball in much to the Hawks faithfull disbelieve, Notley have a good outlet and the Hawks defence kept them out with some resolute defending , this being said Liam did not have a lot to do , some more great football by the Hawks saw Taylor go through and with the Notley keeper coming out he done just enough to stop the shot from the lethal Taylor, then when the Hawks Forward accidently put his hands up to protect his face from point blank range the ref decided this was handball mmm, from the free kick the hawks won the ball back and a cracking through ball set Charles free with only the keeper to beat he beared down on goal , then out of no where the ref blew his whistle and stopped the Hawks in there tracks , why because he thought he had heard something outragious , this just spurred us on but we could not get the killer touch and we came out with nothing fulltime 1 0 Notley ..............................

We had the lions share today and barring a few decisions should of had at least a point , Great Notley united are a competative side but are no way the best team we have played and can count them selfs fortunate to take the points today , we have played all the top teams in this league and have been in all the games , we may not be up there but if these Hawks keep playing there football they will be , WELL DONE HAWKS YOU DO US PROUD WEEK AFTER WEEK

Man Of The MAtch today went to Ashley who has progressed game after game and had his best game for the Hawks to date , he is a pleasure to coach and is becoming a vital cog in the Hawks wheel WELL DON ASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Player Of THe Match went to the Captain Charles who today was awsome and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet , but kept driving the Hawks forward WELL DONE CHAZ
