Hawks away day blues !!!!!!!!!!

With the boys knowing they were up against one of the best teams in the crouch division they went into this one with a bit of caution, Starting line up this week of liam bull in goal henry and ronnie in defence captain david tyler and jimbo in the middle with bren up front subs this week new signing kian and ross.

Maldon got the game underway and tried a long shot which liam gathered on the second attempt but these hawks are made of sterner stuff now and with henry ronnie tyler jimbo and david all winning the tackles they were ho;ding the maldon attacks at bay, jimbo got the hawks going on the left with a pass through to bren who turned and shot only to hit a maldon defender, maldon had alot of possesion but found liam in goal in great form, 7 mins in maldon had a corner which bobbled around the box and the hawks failing to clear was banged in 1 0 maldon, from the kick off the hawks tried again with david going on a run but was muscled out by the maldon defender, 10 mins in and liam who was having a good game mis-kicked the ball and picked it up outside the box with the ref giving a free kick from the resulting kick the maldon taker hit it (like ronaldo) top right hand corner 2 0 great goal, hawksmaking the change bringing on ross and new signing kian for tyler and ronnie who had been superb got the game underway again bren and david trying to find the way through the maldon defence, with 15 mins gone maldon had a pen when the winger put in a high ball that struck henry on the shoulder and rolled onto the top part of his arm, a very harsh decision with myself and pete looking in disbelief (and barry even more so throwing the magic water bottle up in the air i think its still going now) never the less the pen was given with the maldon taker smashing in a well taken penalty 3 0 maldon.halftime !!!!!!!!!!!!

With the chocs missing (sorry boys i forgot) but the team talk out the way the hawks got the second half underway.The hawks were determined and although they had less of the ball still created some chances with bren having a go which  the maldon keeper let go and david trying to knock in the rebound and was unlucky not to score, maldon had a few great shots on goal but again found liam in great form, what happened in the last 6 mins was a bit cruel on the hawks who had battled and just did not have any more to give let in another 5 goals three of which were great strikes top of the goal, the hawks showed today how much better they have got although the score does not show this, if they keep playing as they did for 35 mins the results will come. WELL DONE BOYS !!!!!!!!!!!

Also WELL DONE to the maldon players who are great sports and a credit to you carl !!!!!

Last of all the man of the match this week who was chosen by the parents goes to liam bull with a superb display in goal WELL DONE LIAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The score was 0-8.
