With this being the Eagle's first league cup match, we set out for Witham to face Valley Green, With the pitch suffering from recent rain fall this would be a test for the Eagle's...
Valley Green got the game underway and were soon on the front foot,with some nice interchanging football between there midfield and attack, Focus were finding it hard going and just could not get to grips with the game, with Valley controlling the game they took a deserving lead on 15, with there big striker latching onto a cross shot and poking it home 1 0 Valley, Before halftime it could of been worse but for a cracking save from aaron "almunia" Smead, Halftime was a welcome relief for the out of sort's Eagle's......
Some resounding word's from Jason and Steve were said at halftime and it seemed to work in the opening five minute's of the second half, with Kian and Tom going close, Harrison was his normal self and is the engine room for the team but even "H" could not find that spark, Valley increased there lead with a through ball piercing the Eagle's back line and with a one on one there striker slot's past Aaron, 2 0 Valley, There tails were rearly up now and sealed the win with a free kick from just outside the box , hitting the Eagle's defender Valley's striker was first to act smashing home 3 0 Valley Fulltime...
This was one to forget and was probably the Eagle's worst performance, But take nothing away from Valley Green who are a cracking side and can only go on from this and deserved there win WELL DONE.......... The score was 0-3.
