Focus Ferrers Rangers – Barnston Youth. The rangers were one nil down after two minutes but responded immediately with some lovely football from Jamie, William, and Kristen which resulted in Ben Allen side footing home to equalise. The boys went straight in from the restart and Jami and Josh once again played football right through the park for Ben to smash home his second of the game. A long clearance from Josh allowed Ben to run through the defence and go round the keeper to score and make it a hatrick inside 5 minutes. Owain (aka forest) then charged down the right wing and delivered a perfect ball for Ben to drive home from the edge of the box to make it 4-1. The forest (Owain) then went on another charging run and this time played the ball across for Jamie to smash home from just inside the box. Jamie then went on a run himself and passed to Ben who score his 5th and the Rangers 6th right on the stroke of half time. After the break the boys continued to press on despite several changes and once again the Forest (Owain) broke through the defence after receiving a good pass from Nathan and chipped the ball over the out coming goal keeper to make it 7-1, with a few minutes to go Fletcher passed the ball to Nathan to smash home from the edge of the box to make the final score 8-1, and on any other day could have scored five him self but was denied by several fantastic saves from the Barnston goal keeper. The man of the match went to Ben Allen for bossing the midfield and driving into the box to score five excellent goals. A big well done to all 10 boys who played some of the best football ever seen by a group of seven year olds, playing the ball from the front to the back and starting again if there was nowhere to play the ball. The score was 8-1.
