Match report

One nil down, three one up.

This match was arguably the best the boys had performed all season against a very good and well organised Baddow Spartak. The game started at a very high tempo with Focus Rangers having the better opportunities in front of goal but could not covert possession in to goals. Shortly before the break Baddow Spartak seized an opportunity from a drop ball situation and shot from the edge of the box to make the score 1-0 to Baddow at half time. After some encouraging words at half time the boys went out in the second half determined to get the ball in the back of the net and eventually it came after a chipped free kick from Joseph Topping who found Ben Allen in the middle of the box who smashed the ball home for a well deserved equaliser. The Rangers could now smell victory and piled on the pressure going forward but also had a very steady defence at the ready should Baddow counter attack. Then came Nathan Putt charging in from the wing, past one, past two and bang, in to the net it went for 2-1 to the Rangers. Baddow Spartak then came at the Rangers but the defence and goalie Frazer Gomez held firm and eventually in the dying seconds Nathan made the game safe with another driving run in to the box to make the final score 3-1 to the Rangers.

The man of the match went to Ben Allen who won every tackle in midfield, scored a goal and supported his defence when under pressure, but also a big well done to all 10 boys for a truly magnificent performance.

The score was 3-1.
