Match report

Focus Ferrers Rangers 5 – 0 Braintree Town Blue’s

After suffering their first defeat last weekend the Rangers were determined to get back to their winning ways with a very determined performance which saw them run out comfortably 5-0 winners against a very good Braintree side. The first goal was scored by Nathan Putt who ran down the right wing, saw the keeper of the line and lobbed him from 15 yards. Josh Colvill then thought I can do better and broke from central defence to midway into the Braintree half and lobbed the keeper from 20 yards to make it 2-0 at half time.

The second half continued where the first half finished with some great runs into the Braintree box and then the Rangers got a free kick on the edge of the box, Josh then stepped up took a deep breath and blasted the ball through the wall, past the goal keeper and into the back of the net to make it 3-0.  A very good short corner was then played in the box and Joseph Topping reacted the quickest to blast home for the Rangers 4th goal. Braintree where then awarded a penalty and Frazer “Gomez” Wraight dived superbly low to catch the ball and keep the score at 4-0. Jamie Buck then went on a run beating two defenders with some lovely skills, then lost the ball and then won it back played a pass to Owain Gardiner who passed back for Jamie to shoot and score from just outside the box to make the final score 5-0. The man of the match award went to Joseph Topping who defended very well at right back and broke forward to support his strikers. Well done to all 10 boys for playing terrific football.

The score was 5-0.
