| 1 Mar 2009 | U10s Rangers | 5-0 | Burnham Ramblers | League |
After a few scrappy matches at the beginning of the month the Rangers really took this game to Burnham and played some beautiful football passing from the back to the wings and then back into the box for the strikers and the on rushing midfielders to score some cracking goals. After a good start and some narrowly missed opportunities the ball was one in midfield by Nathan Putt who passed through for Jamie Buck to smash home and set the rangers on their way. The rangers made some changes at the break and Frazer Wraight who had swapped from goal keeper to attacker then converted a penalty after a Burnham player handled a goal ward header from Jamie. Frazer then continued to push forward and then set up Owain Gardiner who burst through the defence to blast home for 3-0. William Rean then left his left back position and cut infield to make an inch perfect pass for Owain to run onto again skipping past 2 and shooting low into the back of the net. Some more bursting runs from Owain resulted in another penalty for the rangers but on this occasion it was not converted. But soon after the restart some lovely football down the left side resulted in a nice pass from Jamie to set up Frazer for his 2nd goal and the rangers 5th. The man of the match went to Kristen Tucker who took everything from Saturday’s training session into Sunday’s game and played outstanding on the right side of the pitch.
