Match report

After a nervy few minutes Rangers finally settled down and started playing football the way there were before the 2 week break of no matches.

Frazer Wraight took a short corner with Owain Gardner and then delivered a peach of a ball for Jamie Buck to score, another corner straight after saw Frazer put in a deep cross and this time Maldon unfortunately scored an own goal. Frazer then produced a good ball from midfield for Jamie to run onto and beat the keeper for his second of the match.

Just before the stroke of half time Frazer picked up the ball from a strong tackle and dribbled to the edge of the box were he struck straight past the goal keeper to make it 4-0.

After the break Rangers continued to pressure the Maldon box with all the hard work being done by Owain who was having the game of his life. Nathan Putt then beat 2 players and with a little flick of his right boot played in Owain who shot hard and low to beat the keeper. This spurned Owain on even more and he then went off on a terrific run from right full back beating several players and once he was in the box he finished neatly past the goal keeper for second of the match. Joseph Topping then decided what Owain can do I will match and he went on the same winding run beating the same players to score a nearly identical goal to make it 7-0. Maldon then broke and scored a very good goal for themselves. Nathan then passed to Daniel Matthews in the six yard box who dropped a shoulder and side footed past the keeper for his first of the match and then in the dying seconds Nathan skipped past 2 defenders and hit the ball high into the roof of the net to make the final score Rangers 9 – Maldon Pumas 1.

The man of the match went to Owain for his tireless running up and down the right flank, but just behind for man of the match was William Rean who played his best game so far supporting the attack from the left back position.

Well done to all eleven boys.

The score was 9-1.
