Match report

Latchingdon Pirates 1 – Focus Ferrers Rangers 8

This match proved to be Rangers toughest game so far. The first 10 minutes was a very even game with Rangers missing 2 chances on goal, and relying on Owain, Josh, William and Frazer to defend our goal which was becoming more under pressure. Eventually Nathan Putt broke the deadlock with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net, this then gave Rangers some belief and after tricking his way into the box Jamie Buck scored to make 2-0. Latchingdon then came back at Rangers and after a good run from midfield the centre forward was able to beat Rangers defence and shoot pass the keeper for a goal.

The half time talk was about passing the ball and in the second half the boys set out to show us all how to play football, after a neat pass between Frazer Wraight and Nathan the ball came free for Jamie to hit a low shot which the defender on the line miss kicked into his own goal, Frazer then passed the ball to Nathan who passed to Jamie who then skipped pass two defenders to shoot low and hard into the goal. The next goal was purely magical to watch and received compliments from the opposite managers after the game, Frazer ran the ball from midfield and then passed to Jamie who looked up went pass one defender and passed to Nathan to score his second of the match. Ben Allen then broke forward with the ball and played in Frazer who turned inside one player and hit the ball straight into the roof of the net for

5-1, after a quick corner Frazer put in a pin point cross which caused havoc in defence and resulted in another own goal. With minutes to go Josh Colvill who once again was outstanding in centre back position powered forward and struck a powerful shot right into the back of the net to make it 8-1 and final score. The man of the match went to Owain who held his position well when defending and got up the line when Rangers were on attack to deliver some excellent crosses.

The Latchingdon manager had nothing but praise for Rangers, so boys when you read this report think SHAPE and continue to pass in triangles and you will continue to be successful.

The score was 8-1.
