Focus Ferrers Rangers 12 – 0
After scoring eleven goals last week Rangers were on a high and could not wait to get started against Maldon Panthers, it was the first time the boys played in wet and windy conditions after enjoying the late September sunshine, and the question on everyone’s lips was how will the boys perform in such atrocious conditions? Rather well judging by the 12-0 score line.
After an even five minutes Fletcher Hammond received the ball and worked his magic toes to side foot the keeper and give rangers the lead. This was followed by a cracking goal from centre back Josh Colvill who blasted from 20 yards after a great short corner and a pass from Owain Gardner.
Josh then set up Daniel Matthews who skipped pass 2 defenders and struck hard and low to make it 3-0 and just before the break Rangers were 4-0 to the good after Owain Gardner went on a winding run beating several players and then side footing into the bottom corner.
After the break Ben Allen went up for a corner and slotted home neatly before rushing back to his left back position ready for the restart. The next 5 minutes belonged to Daniel Matthews who scored two quick goals including one superb volley to make it his hat trick and put Rangers at 7-0 up. Frazer Wraight who had now came out of goal made two excellent runs to score 2 goals for him self and give Rangers a 9-0 advantage. As Rangers put more pressure on the box Maldon unfortunately scored an own goal and then straight from the kick off Ben Allen went forward again to score his second of the match, with just a few seconds to go Jamie Buck made the final score line 12-0 to the Rangers.
Well done Frazer, William, Josh, Fletcher, Owain, Daniel, Joseph, Ben, Jamie and man of the match Kristen Tucker for holding his defensive position through out the match.
