Match report
Focus Ferrers Kestrels 1 Torquespeed 0
Kestrels dominated possession in the first half and had all the chances. Matthew and Kieran played down either side and put in a succession of crosses. Kestrels saw their shots saved, kick off the line and go narrowly wide. With Michael and Gethin at the back there never looked any danger, they won all their tackles were first to the ball and looked confident bringing it out of defence.
The second half was a similar story with chances falling to Josh who saw his close range effort brilliantly saved by the brave Torquespeeed keeper and Ben forging through from midfield putting a couple of chances just wide. Torquespeed with the wind behing had their moments and when their striker connected with the ball just outside the box it looked like the counter punch we had all been dreading. Jason, who had barely touched the ball in the first half, dived full length to tip the shot round the post. This proved to be a match winning save because moments later kestrels once again passed their way through the Torquespeed side and the ball fell to Sam. Although his thunderous shot was straight at the middle of goal it had too much power for the keeper who could not stop it going over the line. If kestrels are to keep winning games getting shots on target is key. The overall performance, passing and movement was once again very impressive from all of the players. Player of the match was awarded to Matthew, who was strong on the ball, always making himself available and then delivering quality crosses. The score was 1-None.
