Match report
Focus Ferrers 2 Boreham Village 3
Focus took and early lead when a cross from Sam was well finished by Josh. Boreham had the better of the chances in the first half and were only denied by some superb goalkeeping from Matthew playing his first game in goal. He made 2 or 3 saves that looked certain goals but was finally beaten by a long range effort in the bottom corner. The battle to control midfield was hard fought with Jason, making an impressive outfield debut, in the thick of things with some great challenges and Harry making some good tackles. The second half started as then first had finished with Boreham looking dangerous. An amazing goal from former player George put Boreham ahead and they had further chances that were well blocked by the defensive duo of Gethin and Michael. A Focus counter attack found Kieran out wide who raced past the Boreham defence to level the game with brilliant individual goal. Focus then had a chance to take an unlikely lead but were caught upfield when Boreham scored the winner. Boreham deserved the victory on balance of play and work rate. Player of the match was awarded to Josh who again was everywhere and a great example of the levels of effort and determination required.
The score was 2-3.
