Lions Battle Back

We had a full squad to pick from today. The game got underway in bright sunshine -this was always going to be a tough battle for the boys as 77 are a very strong physical side. On 3 minutes we knew we were going to be in for a hard afternoon as they broke away to score 1 – 0 to 77. The game got underway again but on 5 minutes 77 had hit another great goal 2  - 0 to 77. The Lions started to get into the game with all the boys playing their part. They were all doing their bit but on 14 minutes 77 had hit us again 3 – 0. The lions did not let this phase them and were all still working really hard in all positions, and on 16 minutes the hard work had paid off and Michael struck a great shot to put the boys back in it 3  - 1 to 77. This is how it was to stay at half time.

The game restarted with both teams really getting stuck in, it was a great game to watch and on 30 minutes Lions put 77 under pressure. The ball was bobbling about in their area when Alfie smashed it into the net 3  - 2 to 77. This was now set up for a grand stand finish. Right on the stroke of full time Joseph picked up the ball in his own half, run the full length of the pitch and cracked a shot in that sneaked in at the near post. The score was 3 - 3 and this is how it stayed.

Well done to the Lions. This was one of the best come backs I have ever seen. You all deserved a mention today - you all stuck at it and got your well deserved reward. Well done to Tommy, Michael, Kai, Jack, Aaron, Daniel,  Callum, Teddy and Alfie. A special well done to Joseph - a well deserved Man Of The Match (goal of the season???)

Nick Fisk

The score was 3-3.
