The Lions came up against a big and strong Tiptree side and the defence had to get straight into the game to stop Tiptree scoring from a couple of early attacks. Kai made some telling tackles and there was a great last ditch save from Tommy to keep the scores level. Finally an excellent goal kick from Tommy fell to Jack who slotted a lovely pass through for Aaron to run onto and side foot home. 1-0 to the Lions. This was a very even game and both teams were playing well with the Lions defence of Michael, Kai and Joseph having to work particularly hard to keep Tiptree out. Just before half time some excellent work in midfield by Teddy and Aaron led to Jack being put through on goal. Just as he set himself to slot the ball home he was tackled from behind by two Tiptree players - penalty. Teddy stepped up and hit a powerful shot into the bottom corner despite a great effort by the keeper. 2-0 Lions.

 

The second half continued much the same as the first with both teams evenly matched. Alfie and Daniel were linking well in midfield and Teddy and Callum were making some great clearances to thwart any Tiptree attacks. Then the move of match saw Kai take an excellent goal kick that was picked by Jack, he combined well with Alfie who played a great pass through to Daniel. Daniel then showed great composure to go round the keeper and slot the ball home from a tight angle - 3-0 Lions and that was how it was to stay. A great defensive display to maintain a clean sheet and some excellent goals too. It was excellent to watch -  the passing and movement of both teams made for an entertaining game.

 

Man of the match went to Daniel for an superb display of passing and committment topped off with a fantastic goal.
