FOCUS FERRERS LIONS U7 3 - 3 BRAINTREE TOWN U7
This was always going to be a very tough match. The boys got the match started just as the rain decided to come down. It was a very even contest with both teams being tested. Some great defending from both sides kept the score 0 - 0. Then on 19 minutes, the Lions broke free - Alfie chipped the ball over the last defender and Aaron ran onto the ball to slot home 1 - 0 to the Lions. This lifted the boys and on the stroke of half time, Alfie had a great chance to shoot but very unselfishly passed the ball to Aaron who slotted home to give the boys a well deserved 2 - 0 lead at half time. This was some of the best football the boys had ever played.
Changes were made at half time. On 23 minutes Braintree got back into the game and on 25 minutes Braintee got the equaliser. The boys heads were dropping a bit and on 26 minutes Braintree scored another great goal to make it Braintree 3 Lions 2. On 27 minutes Jack looked like he was going to score for the Lions from a long way out with a great kick but this hit the post. Lions just could not get that goal. Alfie then did a thunderbolt shot from a free kick but again the Lions couldn’t score as the ball hit the post again. Lions had to change keepers and Joseph was put into goal making some great saves to keep the lions in it. It look liked the Lions were going to taste there first defeat of the season but Joseph did a great long kick up the pitch which was picked up by Aaron who passed to Jack who scored the equaliser on 39 minutes that was how it was to stay. Well played boys - you worked very hard today in not very nice conditions.
Aaron was the well deserved man of the match for a great performance.
The score was 3-3.
