Focus Ferrers Lions U7 9 - 0 Great Notley Cobras U7

 

In truly awful weather the boys put on a fine display of football. The Lions set about attacking the Cobras goal from the off and the defence of Tommy in goal, Callum, Joseph and Michael held their shape well and mopped up any Cobra forward play. Daniel scored two quick well taken goals before some sustained attacking play by Aaron and Alfie resulted in Aaron hitting the post 3 times and being very unlucky not score. Teddy came on for Michael and slotted straight into defence and made some telling tackles. Just before half time Daniel scored his hat-trick with a great finish from a lovely through ball from Joseph to make it 3-0 at half time.

 

The second half started with a well taken goal by Michael who had replaced Callum. Daniel moved to defence and made some excellent tackles. Alfie then scored after a great pass from Michael to make the score 5-0. The managers then had a bit of shake up and Aaron finally scored a well deserved goal after working so hard in midfield. Joseph went in goal for a frozen Tommy who had kept his concentration well in difficult conditions and Alfie went on a great solo run and finished with a lovely goal to make it 7-0. In the last couple of minutes Callum went up front for the first time this season and was rewarded with a well taken goal before Teddy completed the scoring just before the final whistle.

 

Man of the match was Callum for his defensive work in the first half and his goal was just reward for a good all round display.
