HEYBRIDGE YOUTH U7  3 – 8  FOCUS FERRERS LIONS U7

LIONS ROAR AGAIN!

The Managers decided to try a bit of a re-shuffle and it didn’t take the Lions very long to get into their stride. A great pass from Jack to Michael on 9 minutes was put away to put Lions 1 –0 up. The lions were pressing forward and on 12 minutes Daniel got a pass away to Michael again who cracked home his second of the day. The boys were all working hard and this is how it was to stay at half time 2- 0 to the Lions.

At half time changes were made and the Lions soon got back into their stride. A great pass from Alfie on 25 minutes to set Aaron on his way who slotted home his first of the day making the Lions 3-0 up. A minute later Alfie cracked home his first of the day putting lions 4-0 up. Then it was Aaron’s turn again and on 27 minutes he netted again - 5-0 to the lion. A minute later on 28 minutes, after some great work from the midfield, Alfie was put in the clear again scoring to put Lions 6-0 up. The Lions pressed Heybridge and after a goal mouth scramble, a penalty was awarded to the Lions for a hand ball. Alfie stepped up to smash the ball in the back of the net for his 3rd of the day. It was 7-0 to the Lions. This woke Heybridge up and our defence had to work hard keeping them at bay, but on 34, 35 and 38 minutes they played some great football pulling 3 goals back, making the score 7-3.

As time was nearly up Lions broke again with all the midfield working the goal keeper. Alfie then smashed the ball in the back of the net again for his 4th of the day. Final score 8- 3 to the Lions. All the boys deserved a mention - Tommy  Kai , Teddy and Callum defended well. Joseph, Daniel, Jack, Alfie and Aaron in midfield didn’t stop working. But, a very big well done must go to our very well deserved man of the match Michael, who worked non stop all day. Well done boys - still unbeaten – keep it up!
