Match report

FOCUS FERRERS LIONS U7   7   V   1  NOTLEY YOUTH  U7

After another long trip to yet another away game, we were greeted with the news that Tommy, our first choice goal keeper would not be playing due to an injury .The match got underway and the Lions started very brightly. Aaron making a great run from midfield, a great shot was met by a great save. Daniel shot again but again the Notley keeper pulled off a great save. Michael struck the rebound but the keeper was on great form and saved again .

Teddy had to make some great tackles, and Callum had to clear the lines at the back. Notley were looking to open the scoring, bringing out some great saves from Joseph in goal. It was end to end stuff. Yet again, Focus broke free and Alfie put in a great cross but the lions couldn’t get on the end of it. Alfie then broke again and did another fine shot, the Notley keeper couldn’t hold on to it and Daniel was on hand to tuck the ball away on 12 minutes. Notley then broke and on 15 minutes struck the equaliser. At half time Focus 1 Notley 1.

There were a few changes made at half time and with a minute gone Aaron passed to Jack who cracked the ball into the back of the net. This was superb football - all the boys were passing and moving well. On 8 minutes Alfie hit another fierce shot to put the boys 3 – 1 up. The football was a joy to watch and on 14 minutes Jack put a through ball to Aaron who struck the ball well to put lions 4 – 1 up .The boys were now playing with some great skill. All working hard Kai was working well making some great runs and clearances. Alfie made yet another great pass to Jack who struck the ball in the back of the net for his second of the day. On 18 minutes, Alfie and Jack combined again - another great pass from Aaron to Alfie who in turn passed onto Jack who scored his third of the day. About a minute to go Jack hit a shot that was saved by the Notley keeper and Alfie was on hand to score. Making the final score 7 – 1. This is the best I’ve seen the boys play – well done all of you and keep it up.
