Not normally one to blame a result on a referee, this week we paid the price of a poor decision after pushing Battlesbridge to the limit. After losing to our opponents 7-1 in the cup, I am sure they did not expect us to chase them all the way this time. Goals from Adam Coleman and Jamie Pothecary kept us level all the way to the final ten minutes of the match. Focus conceeded a free kick close to their corner flag, and the resulting delivery saw our keeper Martin, push the ball onto the crossbar, only for the ball to drop behind him. The Battlesbridge forward crashed through a Focus defender before smashing Martin and the ball into the net. With our keeper left in agony, I don't think anyone expected the ref to award a goal, but suprisingly the goal was allowed to stand, with Battlesbridge taking all three points.
The score was 2-3.
