Match report

Focus 3 Byfleet Rangers 3

Ten men focus come from 3-1 behind to grab a point at Saltcoates!!

Focus keep alive title dream with a last gasp effort from Thraves to keep Focus 2 points clear at the top of Div 1.  Focus started of very poorly not being able to settle with Byfleet not giving us time to settle.  Byfleet were winning all the area battles and causing us all sorts of problems, It was no real surprise they took the lead after the Ball bounced over Littlejohn and left an empty goal for the Byfleet player to slot home.

Just before Half time focus got a life line good work by Pugh down the left hand side led to Radley tapping home from the far post, 1-1 at half time was more than we deserved but it just goes to show that if you don't give up even when things are not going well you can still hang in there.

Second half started very much as the first with Byfleet uping the Tempo and putting us under so much pressure! Thay took the lead again after another mix up at the back led to a soft goal.  We really was not at the races and then they hit us agin after a fail by Connelly in the area Byfleet made it 3-1 from the spot.

To the Focus Players credit this was the best thing that could have happened! 3-1 down we started to play our best Football and started to create oppotunitites.  17 year old Callum Lund making his second appearence capped of a Man of the match award with his first for the side and was unlucky not to double that moments later.  focus upped it into another gear only fine saves from both Goal Keepers kept the score 2-3 with ten minutes left.

Moment of Madness!!! Radley sees Red  after argument with the Referee who sends him off, down to Ten Men focus kept going and James Hine partnered Thraves up front and Focus still went for the point!  Thraves was put through and with minutes remaining he steered the ball past the keeper off the post to earn us a point!

To players who read this report? Well done for holding in there and grabbing us a massive point!!! With other results going our way, who knows we can still pull this off!!! But we all know we can play better...

Goals: Radley, Lund, Thraves

Man of Match: Callum Lund.   The score was 3-3.
