GIRLS GO DOWN FIGHTING !!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the second game this weekend for the girls and after a great perfomance yesterday,when the girls were cruely denied at least a draw they faced high flying Redbridge North,after a delay in the kick off Redbridge got the game underway ....................

Redbridge had the first attack and came close with a nice move ending with a good strike going just past the post, focus girls were rearly up for this and went straight down the other end but just could not get a shot away, five minutes gone and it was redbridge who scored the first goal with a nice one two ending with there striker "chloe" slotting the ball past rebecca 1 nil Redbridge, The girls kicked off and within two minutes got the equaliser when Alisha recieved the ball from katie s just inside the focus half and ran the half of the pitch and hit the ball past the redbridge keeper "fantastic goal" 1 1 ,the focus girls soon found themselfs behind again with another defence splitting ball and fine finish 2 1 redbridge, but again the focus girls came straight back with katie s and katie h playing some lovely passing football ( i thought i was at the emerates) katie h eventually got the goal she deserved when another fine move ended with katie slotting home 2 2,wow what a match and we were only in the first half,the girls had a number of chances to go into half time in the lead but just could not get that 3 rd goal, at the other end Sophie p Nicola and Becca were playing superb with Rebbeca in goal making some outstanding saves the halftime score was 2 2 ............

The focus girls had there halftime team talk and kicked off the second half, the game was end to end and a right treat for all who were watching ,Katie s was causing all sorts of problems with her pace and Jenny lara and Eleanor were getting there tackles in,the girls had a string of corners but just could not find the net,Redbridge had there share of chances but found Rebbeca in fine form for the focus girls,but 15 minutes into the second half the focus girls fell behind with a fine strike 3 2 redbridge,the focus girls kept going and showed great spirit withboth Katies going close but were hit again with a sucker punch 4 2 redbridge, focus girls did not give up and on another day could have won ,cracking game by both sets of girls with redbridge coming out winners 4 2 on the day...........

All the girls deserve a mention with Nicola Sophie and Becca fantastic at the back Lara Jenny Eleanor Katie and Alisha superb in midfield and Katie h fantastic up front, but one girl just tipped the board with an outstanding performance in goal so PLAYER OF THE MATCH went to Rebbeca well done Rebbeca !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The score was 2-4.
