Match report

After a prolonged period of postponed matches the girls were raring to go despite the strong opposition. From the off Focus were up against it as Writtle played the ball around them and attacked in numbers. Some superb goal keeping from Nicky kept them in the game as the girls battled to tackle and put some passes together. Sophie P, Katie S, Eleanor and Rebecca worked hard in defence but couldn't stop Writtle from going 1 - 0 up. As the half progressed Focus had a few breaks as Alisha and Katie H started to look more threatening in attack. However with half time approaching Writtle scored gain 2 - 0.
With the wind in their faces Focus could do little to stop Writtle's attack. Jenny (capt.), Corinna and Sophie H. worked tirelessly in mid-field but Writtle were too strong and scored several more times in quick succession. Sophie P. and Katie S. continued to put in some excellent tackles whilst Rebecca made some great clearances at the back only to have three more goal put past them.
Special mention today must go to Nicky, voted player of the match, for her bravery and excellent goal keeping. Well done.
Despite the final result the girls fought to the end, gave 100% and didn't give up. The score was 0-7.
