Match report

Following lots of hard work in training and a few positional changes the girls were determined to show Writtle just what they could do. From the off the girls once again put the opposition under pressure and fought hard to win the ball. Alisha and Katie H. worked well together in attack chasing every ball and soon had Writtle worried and on the defensive. With both teams battling hard Writtle managed to get round our defence and put the ball in the net 1-0. The girls came back fighting and following a neat pass from Sophie P. Katie S. picked the ball up on the halfway line took on the oppostion and hit a great shot into the back of the net 1-1. Writtle were passing the ball around well and the girls were up against it, some excellent defence from the midfield and the back line held out until just before half time when an unlucky bounce put Writtle back in front 2-1.
Halftime over the second half continued were the first left off. Up front Alisha. now joined by Emily had the opposition watching her every move and Nicky making her debut in goal was having an excellent game!  Sophie P. held the defence together at the back and Eleanor provided some great throws ins for the midfield and stikers to run on to. Sophie H., Jenny , Rebecca and katie S. continued to give there all in midfield, while despite a heavy fall Ellis continued to block and tackle at the back. With the match drawing to a close Focus were unlucky not to pull it back to a draw when a cross ball and shot were saved by Writtle's keeper.
Final score 2-1 to Writtle Minors. An excellent game against a strong oppostion girls. Well done. The score was 1-2.
