Match report

Having had a great win the day before we knew today would be a much tougher proposition as Boreham were top of the league and had had a large win the day before. Boreham started much the stronger but the back 4 held firm with help from Tony in goal. just as we started getting into the game we were hit by a double blow first conceding a goal then losing Harry to an achilles injury. this only wounded the tiger in the boys and following a great period of pressure and another corner Boreham thought they had cleared the danger only to find George 30 yards out who struck a sweet right foot over the keeper for the equalizer. the boys played some superb football and deservedly took the lead when Alex tapped in a poachers goal following a great shot by Ant. a keenly contested first half ended with the Hawks 2-1 in front. the second half was a tense affair with the Hawks playing some outstanding football but just not being able to get the third with Ant, Cameron and Alex all going close with shots and Dan with a header from a corner just going over. Boreham to their credit threw everything at the boys who held firm and prevented Boreham getting a meaningful shot on goal.
Well done tho the boys who all played well with our best team performance of the season, with Dan securing the man of the match for a great defensive performance although he did not do it on his own.
this performance has put us 4th in the league and looking forward to the rest of the season The score was 2-1.
