Match report

Having had our game cancelled due to a waterlogged Saltcoats the previous week we found ourselves playing our club partners The Eagles in a strangely away game at Saltcoats.The pitch conditions were not as good has they have been which made it difficult to get our passing game going on the sticky ground. Eventually having soaked up some early pressure we began to dominate possession and territory and after a good attack Dan's long throw caught the defence asleep and Michael pounced to open the scoring from a narrow angle this gave the boys the confidence boost they needed and 5 minutes later some great passing and vision from Aron led to Jake cracking home an unstoppable shot in the bottom corner for 0-2. the pressure continued to mount and after several attempts blocked bravely by The Eagles defence Michael put away his second of the game again hugely influenced by a great pass from Aron 0-3. Sometimes a side would like to keep playing but half time was a chance to get our breath back and as often happens the momentum was broken allowing The Eagles into the game but with Cameron brought back on his pace proved the difference as he got our fourth to stretch the lead soon after The Eagles broke to score a well taken goal 1-4 in true Hawks style we went straight to the other end with Cameron slotting home his second of the match 1-5 with  The Hawks piling on the pressure Cameron completed his hat-trick for a final score of Eagles 1 Hawks 6. Special mention must go to Dan H who stepped in at short notice in the absence of Tony in goal giving him his first man of the match since joining the Hawks this season. Well done boys a great result and performance.   The score was 12-1.
