Match report
It was great to actually play a game after recent abandonments due to weather, and so off to Baddow we went - not too far. Lack of match practice showed and in the first 20 minutes there was a lack of co-ordination in the team and they struggled to take control. Gradually matters improved and there was some creativity in the front ranks which eventually came up trumps when Harrison set Ellis up for a really well taken first goal. Coach made a couple of changes and 6 minutes later Lewis went on a mazy run, jinking past 5 or 6 players before he coolly scored the second. What little chances the opposition had our defence dealt with well, with Jamie particularly strong on the left.
So to the second half - again we started slowly but after a while definetly started to play some better football knocking it around on the floor nicely. After 10 minutes the boys broke through again keen to finish the game off and put the result beyond doubt. Charlie broke through the middle and laid the ball off to Harrison who then took a mean swipe at the ball, and what had perhaps appeared to be a cross swerved in mid air and went in the top left - great goal ! Not a great deal happened for the next quarter of an hour but with 5 minutes to go we completed the game in great fashion. Ant and Charlie really linked up well for Charlie to score and finally after a great display full of energy, Ant scored in injury time when Harrison laid on his second assist of the day.
5 different scorers says something about how the team are developing and they continue their progress in anticipation of a busy schedule of games to come. Well done boys.
