This was unfortunately our first home defeat of the season and a return fixture against the previous weeks opponents. We had a full strength side to choose from and after a competeitive first ten minutes Writtle took the lead. The Hawks bounced back straight afterwards with Aaron taking his first goal of the season really well. Both sides began to create chances but weren't finishing it off until on 20 mins Writtle went ahead again. 2-1 was how it remained until half time.
Not long after the restart Writtle extended their advantage but to the Hawks credit they didn't let their heads drop and continued to try and play good football. On 43 mins Aaron and Anthony combined well and at the back post Anthony showed some good composure to put the Hawks back in it. Not long after Writtle pulled away again with two goals in three minutes but with just over 5 minutes to go the Hawks pulled another one back when Anthony scored a great header from a well placed cross from Harrison.
